If you need an unlocked iPhone, which is capable of working across all networks, but don’t want to, or can’t, invest the money needed to buy one outright, then this trick is going to be an ideal solution. The R-SIM 14 solution will bring an unlocked experience without the high financial investment.
Some lucky iPhone owners have been taking advantage of the previous generation R-SIM 13 to unlock their device.
However, that method ceased to work on iOS 12.2 and later, which has resulted in an updated R-SIM 14 being released now offering full compatibility with iOS 12.3 and iOS 12.4 for GSM-based iPhone models.
Like the previous models, the R-SIM 14 takes advantage of a flaw in iOS to go about its business. The beauty here is that it now supports the latest public versions of iOS running on modern Apple hardware, which includes the likes of iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR, among others.
Of course before we move onto the process of unlocking your phone, you need to be in possession of R-SIM 14, which you can get from here.
The updated process for unlocking a currently locked iPhone using the new R-SIM 14 is as follows:
Step 1: Remove the existing SIM card from the device and insert it into the R-SIM 14 with the SIM’s gold connectors facing upwards.
Step 2: Fold the R-SIM 14 over and slip it directly into the iPhone in question, just as you would with a standard SIM card.
Step 3: Exercise a little patience. You will get a new screen popping up on the iPhone advising that it needs to be activated. Dismiss this screen entirely and select the “Edit ICCID” option.
Step 4: Enter the following ICCID code on the device: 89014104270225993202
Step 5: Tap the Send option.
Step 6: Now, restart the device and wait for it to boot up. It will be fully unlocked and ready for use.
It would be amazing if we still lived in the world of yesteryear whereby a software-based process could be put in place to ensure that the device remains SIM unlocked forever but, unfortunately, those days are gone. This process isn’t ideal and does involve the initial purchase of the R-SIM 14 but it’s also extremely fruitful and will achieve the desired effect for a very low price compared to full price that you may have to pay for factory-unlocked iPhone models from Apple.
