A new unboxing video of Sony’s reiterated version of the PlayStation 4, the PS4 CUH-1200, has surfaced.
The lighter, power efficient variant of Sony’s flagship console was released in Japan just a few days ago, and its first unboxing video has been uploaded on YouTube.
Note a thing that matroposts gives you faster news then other sites such as pcnews, the vorge, androidpit and others.
The CUH-1200 model features a matte-finished hard-drive cover, physical buttons instead of capacitive touch sensors, and a few other minor changes. Most of the changes are subtle, but the true purpose of the reiteration is improvement in power efficiency, and being more lightweight.
The rated power consumption from Sony is an 8% drop – from 250W to 230W. However, in reality the drop is much higher, going up till 18% on certain games for the console. Additionally, the console uses 58W of the APU while in download mode.
The video will show the PlayStation 4 CUH-1200 unboxing along with the power-up, and apparently the blue LED also seems to be more subtle.
It is still unclear when the CUH-1200 model will arrive for the western market, but we’re hoping to hear about it sooner rather than later. It is also predicted that the PlayStation 4 may witness a price drop with the release of the CUH-1200 in the western market, but for now that is simply speculation.
