Two-new-high-end-Lumia-Smartphones-will-arrive-in-Q3-2015
This year, Microsoft is expected to launch two flagship Lumia smartphones, namely, Lumia 940 and its large-screen variant, Lumia 940 XL. Some reports have already revealed a handful of details about the upcoming flagships. Now the fresh leak about important features of the handsets has come from a German site Winfuture.
The leak suggests that both the smartphones will feature Quad HD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels). However, the Lumia 940 will sport a 5.2in screen and the 940 XL a 5.7in one.
Most of the other specs are same. Microsoft will incorporate a 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, 20MP rear camera with PureView technology and a 5MP front-facing camera in its duo, the site reveals on behalf of sources with insight of Redmond’s operations. Further, Winfuture suggests aluminium framing and a polycarbonate back cover.
As per the battery, the XL model encases a larger battery than the fellow flagship. More specifically, the 5.2in Lumia 940 will come equipped with a 3000mAh battery while, the 940 XL model will encase a 3300mAh battery. The same difference persists in case of processors of the smartphones as well.
The XL model will be given superiority by empowering it with an octa-core Snapdragon 810. In contrast, 808 hexa-core processor will manage operations of the Lumia 940.
According to the source, both flagships will be equipped with Microsoft USB Type-C port. More enchantingly, the phones may offer wireless charging and Iris scanner to unlock the device using the front camera.
It is important to mention that official Microsoft sources have not commented about the new arrivals.
